GFT is seeking a Construction Manager - Roadway and Bridges to join our Construction Services Team in Chicago or Rockford, IL! We oversee every construction phase to help ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.What you’ll be challenged to do:This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced, motivated Construction Manager who thrives in a collaborative team environment. The role highlights a customer-focused mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional quality and results on every project.In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Conducts and documents project meetings with clients.Prepares and monitors project schedules.Performs periodic construction observation and inspection.Possesses basic surveying interpretation skills.Prepares reports and correspondence.Prepares and checks quantities for measurement and payment purposes.Prepares construction payment applications.Negotiates and prepares construction change orders.Reviews submittals and other technical data.Proficient with construction management software for document management and scheduling.Performs constructability reviews and value engineering studies.Assists with Risk Management assessments.Prepares and monitors Quality Control and Assurance Plans.What you will bring to our firm: BS in Engineering or Construction Management preferred. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred.IDOT Documentation Certification, required.7+ years of experience. Experience with Primavera P6 preferred.10-hour OSHA Safety course.Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).Good oral and written communication skills.Must possess a driver’s license to fulfill the essential functions of the position.Compensation:The salary range for this role is $98,000 - $140,000.
